Video portraits

We recently did a shoot where the client wanted both stills and video of their team members. Fortunately they had a room that was large enough to accommodate two sets, so each person went into makeup first, next had their still shots done, then moved to the video set. This let us move through the shot list pretty quickly, without making people wait around too long, or having to come to the shoot location two different times. Here's how the video turned out.

We're doing more videos these days. Here's a short clip from one that was done for a corporate meeting in Brazil. Unfortunately, the client didn't send us there to do the shoot.

PYT's Footloose

We recently did some publicity photos for PYT's summer production of "Footloose". It was not exactly difficult to get a bunch of teenagers jumping on the mini-trampoline we set up in the studio, even tho' they'd just been in rehearsal for 3 hours.

PYT volunteer work

Our daughter has done many plays over the years at Peninsula Youth Theater, and parents are required to put in volunteer hours on their children's plays. The first job I had there was "Green Room Monitor", which chiefly consisted of yelling at kids "No Running in the Hallways!", "No Eating While in Costume!" and other pithy comments. I promised myself I'd find a better job, and quickly. For many shows I operated one of the follow spots, which is really a fantastic job, provided you're not too concerned about working way up in the catwalks. It's best not to look down too often at the audience, 40 feet below you. Nowadays I take headshots and performance photos for them, and I'll post some of them from time to time. These are some photos from the PYT Alumni show "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee".

Medical product photography

We sometimes joke that we should change our studio name to Catheters 'R Us, or something similar. We do shoot a lot of catheters, stents and other medical devices, but I actually find most of the products, and what they can do inside our bodies, pretty interesting.
